The pigeon bombers with the mechanical pecking. In WW2 they needed bombs which hit stuff. Bombs missed badly especially at sea. So they proposed a pigeon guided bomb. Because pigeons can be trained to deliver messages. Infact with a row of lights a pigeon will always select the lit up light if it offers a reward at 100 percent with simple training. So they put three pigeons into a bomb and they would peck at a lit up screen of the target guiding the bomb on to it through its other engineering. The radio control was short range from a plane being shot at. Enter the pecking pigeon. Similar to the first dog in space. Except dogs were more hazardous. The pigeon was never used in the end.
