The US government has used satellite based energy weapons to blow up North Korean rockets on the launchpads before. They would have a very easy time getting away with doing this to Elon.
NASAs new moon rockets have been blowing up in testing the last few years too. The difference is SpaceX gets neg press because one of his other companies is Tesla and hedge funds short Tesla more than any other company (in rational times at least - I think a few hedge funds overdid it with gme and are about to go bankrupt). Hedges always use neg news to make money, and push it as much as they can to maximize profits
When NASA blows up rockets, they have people in them. Hence the time out.
When Musk blows up rockets, he is pushing them hard, with no humans on board.
So? Nasa blew up everything in the 1950s its full scale model prototyping.
Bezos hasn't even left the upper atmosphere yet
Not Bezos, Paul Allen's stratolaunch I always liked the idea of 2 stage to Orbit. half the work is stuff airplanes can do.
