Secondary bacterial infections. 1918 flu was deadlier than WWI. The soldiers in the barracks & close quarters were a perfect storm to spread. So sad.
The books "Demon in the Freezer"(smallpox) & Hot Zone (ebola) are good reads.
Does anyone believe they could even identify different flu strains in 1918?
