It all comes back to Gematria and the idea that the Torah tells of a return of the 12 tribes but without 6 (which they consider a reference to the Jewish population, multiplied to 6 million). Hebrew characters represent both numbers and letters, so a single mis-spelling of a word led scholars to believe that the return of Israel could only come after 6 million were lost. This led them to use "6 million" as an allegory for a large loss of life, and as you can see, they used it all the time until the final "sacrifice" they thought worthy of the number 6 million: the Holocaust. The very name Holocaust refers to the belief that the loss of Jewish life was a "burnt sacrifice" which allowed the return to Israel. The number 6 million has nothing to do with how many actually died, although they would love for us to believe that number is accurate. It's all symbolic for them, and symbolism will eventually be their downfall as more of us are awakening to it.

I know gullible Americans and others donated many Billions to Jews before WW2 and still do.
