I can actually somewhat agree with their reasoning for it. Having stupid shit plague you for the rest of your life is an unattended consequence of the internet. People grow and evolve throughout life.
But, you know it will be used as an excuse to whitewash history that threatens them and their narratives. The path to hell is paved with good intentions.

exactly. That's how they introduce things - make them seem innocuous, palateable, then boil the frog once the precedent has been set.
