I was just about to post this exact same question!?!??! So much purple!!!

Co-opt the middle. Most voters aren't extremists and with this election supposedly showing half the country is now completely politically active it means the middle will have to dominate elections. We can't actually allow that but we can pretend to be a mix of red and blue so you have your illusion.

Don't watch it. I'm not watching it.

I just watched some show that explained some cultures (eg. Romanian) wear purple to ward off evil spirits.

There may be day walking vampires in 2021...
