Please, do not confuse empathy with sympathy. I'm a level 8 empath, and it makes me very upset to be placed in the same bucket with those people.
Empathy is knowing what the other person is feeling.
Sympathy is caring about it.
You can have one, or the other, or both, but they are not the same thing. I'm a very anti-social person (most high level empaths are) that knows exactly what you are feeling, but don't give a flying fuck about it. Really, I'd rather not know.
Instead, their case is that they have near 0 empathy and a lot of conditioned sympathy.
