it still blows my mind people feel the need to have a smart refrigerator. so useless.
Quite a few years ago I had the idea of a smart fridge (no doubt I wasn't the first) that read RFID tags or similar on food/drink when you first put them in and grabbed the use by date off them. Then when you opened the door/walked past, it would come up on the screen "X is approaching use by date etc". Fairly useful I think for a busy household where stuff get's overlooked and forgotten about and then binned. But that's about the extent for any smart features anyone needs for a F/F imo.
people are impressed by the most useless technology ever
I don't know about the touch pad, but I know a few rich people who have smart fridges with cameras in the fridge and you can check it out on an app. It's kinda nice if you find yourself at the grocery store and need to check what you have to buy. Or if you want to check the fridge but you don't want to go all the way to the fridge. But that's about it.
Could you imagine ever telling this to someone from outside of the first world? Not making fun of your post specifically just that idea lmao
For the past few days my Android phone has been giving me "tap here to enable background location tracking" notifications every hour or so.
Or just buy a fridge without a $1000 screen option
