Amazon is shutting down ALL of Parler's servers tomorrow. Parler will be down for at least a week. (www.parler.com)

What about the Win sites. Shouldn't these also be decentralized? Seems like no one has learned from their mistakes. I don't really understand why anyone piled into Parler when Gab exists and is decentralized some what. Aside from that dumb "nazi" smearing that is...

I doubt it's just that easy otherwise everyone would do it.

The win sites are on private servers and are privately funded. The only way to take them down is for the website agrees to be unregistered and even then there are 3 backup websites registered with different companies.

They should just give us the ip address to direct connect with the website so no need to remember the back up domain names.

They're definitely worried something's going to be declassified if they're going to these extreme levels of censorship.

Well, I guess I'll order $1000k worth of shit on amazon, then return it over and over again- open it, play around, then return it. Gotta make sure it's sold and shipped by Amazon. Don't wanna hurt small businesses. Gotta do something right?

Fucking evil scum anti american oligarchs.

Hopefully the new server will be better than Amazon's. Can't even sign into parler now. Screw Amazon, btw.

Here is an article on why the the US Military shouldn't use AWS, and many of the same reasons apply to Parler: https://medium.com/@keithccurtis/why-the-dod-should-use-openstack-instead-of-aws-6ccb677c858b

Be prepared for blackout and "antiterrorists" raiding you,it is becoming more and more possible.

It is the time to prepare yourself and it might be quickly no joke anytime longer.

Remember now: 1.packed survival backpack is your friend in those times 2.Gun near you while you are sleeping. If you have vest keep it near too 3.Sleep in clothes you would likely move out your house, tanked and bit secured car or motorcycle and some camping supplies would be a benefit. 4.Some kind of alarms to secure the entrances - ones not dependent of electricity. Best if you can trust your family, without it you might have a problem. 5.If they will call you to go with them kindly because some disaster will happen soon - hide and avoid their "help", at best - RUN the fuck out !

PS: Have guns and ammo ? 1 with you, one in obvious cache or 2 to lose, rest to keep in different caches with ammo. In case of "only" gun grab give one and be prepared to let them find some but never all. Detectors and georadars are best to 2 m but no guarantee and if you want to bury it,but remember about proper packaging.

Spread if possible to any conservatives from parler. Your "personal DEFCON 3" now, "personal DEFCON 2" would be possible anytime soon.

At worst it is days or hours, if not - no more than months from now.

PS: and to those morons who are considering raiding government now - they made those pitty "coup" to prepare for you the same like it was in Europe with Brevik just before opening gates for "refugees". Capitol was probably preemptive action. Donald is not gonna to save you (probably) , keep your ass in one piece freedom loving brothers and sisters.

Saw that coming. They're trying to dodge lawsuits.

what lawsuits could be brought against them?

As of right now, not much. There's very specific carveouts for things like child pornography and sex trafficking (i.e., what caused the recent crackdown on Pornhub), but for the last year all the talk has been about curtailing protection under Section 230 -- which is what currently prevents most lawsuits against web hosts. Ironically, Senator Hawley was one of the most recent politicians to propose cuts to Section 230's protection.

Additionally, there has been an increase in successful challenges to Section 230 in some lower courts. See, e.g., M.L. v. Craigslist, No. C19-6153, *5-9 (W.D. Wash. Sep. 11, 2020) (finding, in part, plaintiff's claims that Craigslist is responsible for developing offending content because the advertisements were developed (a) in conjunction with Craigslist's rules, (b) advertisers paid Craigslist a fee, (c) Craigslist enabled anonymous communication, and (d) Craigslist hosted an "erotic services" section sufficient to overcome a motion to dismiss pursuant to Section 230).

If I had to guess, the in-house counsel at these companies has seen the writing on the wall and is trying to safeguard against future lawsuits, should Section 230 protection be degraded -- which is what seems to be happening.
