Something I find interesting is the new law passed in the Duma, not sure if was adopted yet or not, that prevents prosecution of Russian presidents and their families once one leaves office.
Putin is an interesting cat, and the Russian political system under his leadership is also pretty interesting once you dive into it. I see an attempt to implement something similar here under Trump. Putin's party has no platform, much like the lack of a GOP platform coming out of the last convention. Instead, they are partisans loyal to Putin and Putin alone. We're seeing a schism now in the GOP of the party we know as Republicans and the cultists of Trump who want him to form his own party as a permanent figurehead.
Interesting stuff. I'd like to think that we're beyond this insanity as America, but you've got a substantial number of people actually wanting to split off from the Republicans and form the MAGA party or whatever it is you might call it.

The Navalny "poisoning" is more of the same, but even lazier, since it's clear Navalny is more fully compliant with the ruse than the Skripals were. The real source of the misinformation surrounding both these cases has been the BBC, CNN would be merely parroting their propaganda.
