Anyone remember me?
Edit: Wow, for my first text post on here, I did not expect all the praise I got here that I wouldn't get with how censored Reddit has become.

They’ve just developed new tools. You’re not going to be alone in your endeavors. I recently located an individual targeting Latina minors while posing as a German in his mid 20s. I was able to get back to a physical address, employer, and tacit admission of guilt within about eight hours of research.
Sounds like you’ve pursued some form of traditional education in the field. I’ve spoken to PIs that are practicing actively recently and they’ve said that the majority of their work is for insurance companies and that is what those courses really prepare you for (and divorces). Has that been your experience? Asking because I do intend to get involved professionally (background in digital forensics).
One more thing. Digital forensics. If you have the aptitude and resources to go that route, do it. An emphatic do it at that. It is the future and is now.
The bulk of traditional PI works is moral cases of infidelity (no thanks) and insurance fraud like workmans comp abuse. Again, not that interesting. However, finding a niche is what I do and have had my own businesses before with success.
My basic training is decades of open source research. That is how I ultimately pursued my current work. I am not a fed, but a liaison essentially. I am a good user of e-things and resources. Over the years I helped in many cases that often pop up in places like conspiracy.
I have to get ready to go in to work now. I will get back to you when able. I work at night and despite the current 12am to 5am curfew in Virginia, I am able to be out. I would go out anyway if I wanted to. Coonman Northam is not my boss.
