I woke up to the top post on our old subreddit being some shitty Twitter screenshot from some dude who doesn't know how to spell who was sharing blatantly false information in another top post the other day. The third top post is another shitty Twitter screenshot from some rando who doesn't know how to spell.
While the sentiment of those tweets (questioning covid) is fine. It's just another example of the degradation of the content shared on the old subreddit. I hope this one can flourish and blossom into what /r/conspiracy used to be.
Thanks for making this, if nothing else, as a backup for when the hammer eventually comes down.
Wow didn't expect so much traction on this post haha, but appreciate the karma. Seems a lot of you are criticizing the "overnight" part of the post. Yeah I agree that it's been in decline for years (especially this year). My first thought this morning though was, "There's basically nothing useful on this subreddit anymore." At least during it's decline, you could still find nuggets of wisdom sorted by new or whatever, but the front page was covered with dumb tweets, baby wipes, and straight bullshit today. With the vaccine coming, seems like bots, propaganda, etc are all in overdrive right now. And I will say, I don't like Trump, BUT I don't like Biden either. I like to think my spirit is that of a true conspiracy theorist -- if you're in the White House, you're compromised. If there's one thing Trump accomplished, it's that he made a lot of the conspiracy theorists out there become partisan.

No, I get what you mean... it went from simmer to boil on Nov 4. I was up watching the ballots roll up in the middle of the night, and went to r/conspiracy to comment. Crickets, and "rule 9" bans for those who spoke out. I waited for the dust to settle and tried again, only to realize based on the astroturf comments that the sub was gone. It was as bad as r/politics the day Clinton stole the nom.
