I was in Old Town Alexandria today - one of the most liberal places on the planet. I saw people gardening, walking their dogs, riding bicycles, etc. all wearing masks. Everyone seemed so happy and proud to be wearing their masks. That said, we were not wearing masks and no one gave us a second look. It was like a Twilight Zone episode.
