I believe that Jesus was born in Nisan (March) 5 BCE. The Bible tells us that around the time of Jesus' birth, a star appeared that led wise men from the East to Bethlehem. What was this star? The Chinese at that time recorded that a comet was visible between March and May 5 BCE. This comet was most likely the Star of Bethlehem, as it was visible around the time of Jesus' birth. Now I can go even further and probably even identify the comet. If we go 2,000 years into the future from 5 BCE, we end up in the year 1996. In 1996, between March and May, an extraordinary comet (C/1996 B2) was visible. Exactly 2,000 years after the birth of Jesus. Did God send the Star of Bethlehem back to celebrate the 2,000th birthday of his son?

Is anyone here who saw the comet in 1996? What was it like? I heard it was even more impressive than the Hale-Bopp Comet.
