if you're trying to say Hitler committed war crimes - why didn't he just use poison gas and cut out the need for sacrificing his own troops? Does not compute.

Because the Allies told the Nazis that poison gas bombs would’ve been dropped on Germany if they used it on any front. The Germans didn’t stop themselves from using it over any moral obligation to goodness.
