I dont think its fear of racial discrimination, maybe nowadays lately but I have a anecdotal story for you.

When my spouse, who is canadian, went on vacation in the states, their dad would tell them. Do not look at the truckers, or anyone else, do not make them mad, etc. He was terrified, and this was 30 years ago that they might piss someone off and get shot.

I suspect back then it was mainly propaganda to keep people from looking towards america and getting any ideas about abandoning the crown, imo.

But what he thinks, may be more true than ever nowadays, but its not like canada is any better.

:shrugs:

I know in america, I wouldnt walk through some rural bumpkins backyard, without risking getting full of buckshot.

These people up here in canada, no fucks given about going in someones backyard.

The difference between having personal rights, and not I guess. In crown countrys like canada, there is no expectation of privacy, at all.

You could imagine my surprise when I found out the RCMP are allowed to enter someones home if the door is left open. lol. Not that it matters, they can search your place at any time they want, or stop you and search your car, no reason, no warrant, no rights. Must be a playbook for our politicians. Trading one head and a crown, for another.

King Trudeau doesnt even try to hide it, I feel like.
