Not the way farming works in Europe. You own nothing. Sure it's your farm in a sense. But they tell you what to grow, and when it can grow. What seeds and fertiliser and pesticides you can buy. If you own livestock, they have to get shots and medicines, own so many, kept how. All on subsidies. All on regulations.
A house is different in that sense. You can own stuff, your horse, your goats, your chickens, even your pigs, etc, and you can grow and plant stuff. We're taking about huge fields, land usage dedicated to agriculture. You're just a serf today.
Even in the above. Government can come in and murder all your shit. Tell you not to grow it. Especially if you're trying to sell it. Like eggs, even vegetables in your restaurant. Seize, or destroy your privately owned chickens, and crops, etc.
Understand? So when prices start climbing, they can't buy stuff like fertiliser, because they're told it is no longer regulated, but to buy this other stuff at inflation, no crops, no wages, and subsidies are cut off unless you comply. If use other stuff cheaper, I know a guy they close you down. Feed starts price rising, and government decides, they're cutting back on livestock, no more subsidies for medicines. You just opened a cattle farm, buying premium cattle, these get real pricey, as in costing thousands per cow etc. Next outbreak of TB, you gave them shots. But oh know, murdering them anyway it's in the national area.
You're a serf today. Unless you have a castle somewhere. They'll still come and regulate your shit, like a parking attendant. You'd throw they down a mine shaft. Not happening. You can't even build on your land today. It needs planning permission.
