The thing is, those are kind of decoys, as real power is never given to random applicants coming up from the lowest levels.

The Illuminati and their subgroups / derivatives have interest mostly only in those with enough power to contribute. That includes professionals in the legal system such as attorneys and judges, or politicians. If you're a plumber and join the Masons, or GD or OTO you're going to stay an outsider member, not really initiated into higher ranks where you get trusted to perform needed tasks. As in any secret organization, no one is ever trusted until they have proven themselves, and even then people get retested. If you were to join GD but have no power, you will essentially get told to copy scrolls forever, never rise. Some guy with a GED would stay at low levels unable to penetrate the real organization. What all the groups want is semitrustable sociopaths who can be trusted to carry out orders, but may not ever be told the real reasons for actions. No bricklayer or truck driver would ever be able to fit the needs, and any random guy dumb enough to apply on a website would not be trusted. A lot of recruitment comes only from personal contact. For example, the Masons have the slogan "To become one, ask one". This prevents the loose cannons from cluttering up the ranks.
