Interesting that West believe that they are ancestors of Rome, and in Russia we believe that we are ancestors of Byzantine. There is even a legend/myth, that things began to become better for Russians, only when we restore the Cross on the St.Sophia in Constantinopol (ancient capital of Bysantine Empire, now Istanbul) back :)

However, today the division is completely fictional. Of course there are some local specific, but the main narratives and agendas are the same.

If West will collapse, highly probably Russia will collapse too. If somehow Russia survive, there will be just a role switch, nothing more. Everybody will want to immigrate to Russia, instead of US/EU. But the system will be the same.

To really change something we have to completely get rid of parasites.
