Doesn't mean you give up and do nothing. You do what you can to mitigate the effects instead of saying it's moot.
There's quite a lot you can do to remain healthy:
You can do some of this the usually well known ways: Vitamin D3, C, niacin, zinc, nattokinase, quercetin, NAC/glutathione, iodine, sulfur compounds (garlic, onions, MSM), and taurine, coq10, PQQ, fish oil for heart health.
You can also avoid some of the effects of a cytokine storm with various things like small dose of oregano, cinnamon, frankincense, myrrh, and other essential oils (must dilute it in a carrier oil like coconut or olive), and the usual antioxidants like vitamin C in higher doses. Antivirals like licorice root powder (not the candy, duh), Chinese skullcap, black elderberry (sambucus), honeysuckle, (oregano again), will also do a lot to help.
And ofc, avoid further exposure when you can.
Know that exercise will keep you from getting much sicker. Irsin which is a hormone released when you exercise will keep the virus from doing a lot more damage, likely the myokines released will also do the same.
I'd also say start carrying around a pulse oxymeter, they're cheap ($20 or less) and if your blood oxygen level is less than 98 start doing breathing exercises to get it higher.
BTW: realize that while the actual virus will cause lung damage, and the vax may cause some as well, you can increase your lung capacity through exercises. You can do things like Wim Hof breathing, you can do the old singer's exercises of lying on the floor with a book or other weight on your chest and do diaphram breathing, or you can hold your breath for as long as you can while you run/bike and then breathe deeply, etc.
