The set Trump up to LOSE by giving him prominence in the primary over his GOP rivals. They thought Hillary would have a landslide and they would have the sweeping power to make big liberal reforms. It was an honest to God shock to them.

Remember, they stopped counting votes in 2016 in the middle of the night as well, but they had no pallets of ballots to run multiple times through the scanner. It was to late, they had to call it for Trump in PA and such in the middle of the night, because there was no COVID scam to give them cover.
