lets say i agree with you that there are laws about setting foot on antarctica, there are no laws about circumnavigating it, and there are tons of people who've done it.... and it doesn't take them a year to get back to where they started, as it would if that continent was a ring.

thousands of people all throughout history and it's not "a thing" that everyone knows you die if you try it.
