It is very funny to observe the people in surgical masks at -20C(-4F) here. It is literally visible how water vapour particles pass through that dumb surgical masks without any significant obstacle. Even wool scarfs we usually used to wrap around face at cold times stops more. And there still a lot of people who believe that surgical masks are better than scarfs or any other fabric. They see how dumb it is with every breath, but nothing happens in their heads.

PS: We have mandatory masks only in groceries, supermarkets and other public buildings (completely unlawful, but who cares about laws in Russia), however, you don't have to wear mask outside. Hopefully, small groceries and shops out of large cities does not care about muzzles anymore, since police swoops searching for bribes for mask mandate violation faded in autumn, shop owners and workers are very tired from that mask madness, and now you could live like normal people without muzzles if you are lucky to live in rural area.
