The "war" described was a mass boycott of German goods. Jews unfortunately didn't realize the stakes and thought Nazism could be defeated peacefully. They would have been better off mass killing Nazis in the streets until they were scared to leave their homes.

If boycott is war, then the IDF should be able to go kill BDS members.
