Sure they did. Italy changed sides because Mussolini was an unprecedented level of useless, even losing a war to an African state, the first European nation to do so after invading. Hitler had to bail him out repeatedly, and the Italian people were sick of losing their families to retarded ideas and revolted, hanging him from a lamppost.
