Well my monthly cost is that of someone in 1978. Considering I live in an old GI house it kind of checks out.

If your house payments are that high you are probably trying to buy a house in a large democrat controlled city because we are looking at houses in rural Missouri right now and can get 3 times the size for literally half the cost.

A decent fixer upper is 40k and that is how it is in a lot of rural places. This should be an opportunity to reverse the push that forced people into large cities during the Great Depression.
