Me and a few of my white friends had pits. They were all nice with kids and other animals. The problem is that people buy and breed pits to bite and fight because they are muscular dogs. I would imagine if a golden lab could bulk up bigger than a pit people would breed them.

Somehow the pit has become ingrained in black culture and they see no other way than they are taught and that behavior carries over to the animal.
