I’m not sure why it does this sometimes. I tried to open a proton mail and got this same link. I didn’t wanna do that so abandoned it. Came back later and it didn’t ask me. Opened it without any issues. And did another one at a later date also without having to provide a verification email.
The hard part is not having your private email server marked as an untrusted spam generator by the major email relays. You will never know which of your emails just get black holed.
And of course there is the never ending war against incoming spam. I gave up fighting these battles years ago.
Yeah I started using simple login email aliases and I don’t think I’ve had an issue with them being black holed but it is hard to tell sometimes. I figure if it’s important I’ll notice it’s missing and if not, it’s no big loss.
