Trudeau is like the Canadian Clinton. Associates get screwed.

The old guy gets called up, either thinking that everyone knew about his past and didnt care or else thinking no one would find out. Or maybe senile and didn't remember anything.

He hid successfully for decades, had a family. Who knows if his family and friends knew and how they are treating him now that he is being reviled across the world.

Are they tracking down the rest of the group who came with him under false identities to Canada? Are they going to be extradited?

Poland is already trying to extradite him to presumably face prosecution and life imprisonment.

Everyone in the worlds knows who he is and his history now. He is screwed. How will his family be treated?

The Speaker most likely had nothing to do with this idea. From what I understand he is like a neutral third party, maybe administrative, that both parties 'speak' to and he maintains order.

Likely, Trudeau and Zelensky's teams came up with this idea to motivate fighting against Russia and make it look prestigious.

Possibly, the Speaker's office coordinated the time and visit but it doesn't seem like an idea or instruction that would organically come from his position.

Now his name is smeared, he is blamed and loses his cushy position. Trudeau makes sure to throw him under the bus and put the blame squarely on him.
