We have a new rule in the sidebar:
Rule 2: Don't abuse the report function.
Abuse of the report function includes: making multiple reports that are not justified, making multiple spurious reports, reporting comments for behavior that you yourself have just engaged in, making multiple targeted reports of a user you are in an argument with regardless of the content of the comments.
Think before you report. Repeated abuse of the report function could result in a temporary ban.
I'm working on a new rules page for this forum which will explain each rule in a bit more detail - I don't want to clutter up the sidebar too much with explication.
Why does it matter who reports a rule violation? If a rule has been violated, the identity of the reporter should not matter.
if you make a report, your user name is attached to it. And that's good thing too, since the report function is being abused. I've often wanted to reprimand users for this, but since it wasn't an explicit rule I didn't.
Are you still going to action those rule violations then or will you ignore them because of who reported them?
Btw, what rule would a comment "Nazis are scum" vioalate to warrant a removal?
Are you confusing me with someone else? There's another guy here who constantly rants about fictional Nazis. I never accused anyone of being a Nazi.
