In many industries, sociopaths climb to the top of marketing. Professional liars all. Pharma and Big Med are infested with them; Pharma Bro was only one of many, actually.
On a different topic, this afternoon I had confirmation that Apple has been working on a full self driving car for years now. I saw a job post for the team and it admitted there is a team doing it. While the tech in general has been overhyped, the Apple people are serious.
Yeah, one is coming but frankly it is too early for that technology. When Apple created the Newton PDA, it was too early and the cell phone hammered it but then they did the iPhone.
The VR headsets have a major major problem; one can easily get nauseated wearing one. The reason: VR moments do not track well with the human systems for orientation and balance. The military discovered that when they deployed VR. People playing VR games get sick too. The one success I see right now is Tilt Five, which is an augmented reality product. I predict Apple will either copy them, license from them, or buy them.
I can see VR for stable non moving situations like examining a product before buying it on Amazon or wherever.
This isn't capitalism. It is crony capitalism which extreme instances of bribery and blackmail that allows certain corporations to get ahead regardless of their merit
