I view it as government over-reach, banning a specific technology like tungsten filament bulbs. Gives me visions of ATF going door to door searching for assault bulbs.
Ban gas cars, gas stoves, gas generators, incandescent lights. Taken as a whole, all this is demolition of our society bit by bit. Intent is to damage our ways of life and our quality of life. There will be more bans. Likely, propane, barbeques, people over the age of 90. California bans goose liver and certain types of bacon.
Wake up, this is creeping dictatorship.
Yes, you are correct, but ultimately the market is more powerful. If the call for incandescents to come back is strong enough, the market will find loopholes to do so.
the guy who comes up with a DIY incandescent bulb kit is going to make bank. there was a discussion about this a few months ago on the chans that was pretty kino.
I would have loved to see that thread
I'd hope for that, but in places like California no matter what the market says, here one can only buy certain guns and all magazines are limited to 10 rounds. Gas stoves are banned in new construction. No amount of complaints have removed these bans nor found loopholes.
Yeah it isn't a dictatorship though. It's a society. Every day you make a choice to continue to live in it.
It is a society ruled over at present by a semi-dictatorship controlled by the Democrats, by installed or bribed or blackmailed or corrupt officials, by the bankers, and by the elite, in that ascending order of power. The masses don't really have a choice as to whether to live in it. They are stuck here financially for the most part and there is no country with open borders to run to. One can of course down-migrate to a third world country, or to Israel if you're jewish.
Go back to fucking Facebook and grow up.
I enjoy being lectured by fucking idiots, thanks. How's the small cap alt name business going?
Take note. Want to keep the light spectrum in your house healthier? Doing any renovations and don't want LEDs? These are the bulbs that won't be banned by the new incandescent light ban.
For household use, I'd say the left-hand threaded, MR16 (track lighting), and certain colored bulbs will be most useful. The left-hand threaded and MR16s will require fixture changes, but that is not difficult to accomplish.
