I was a women that had high risk pregnancies. I understand these laws, the medical terminology, and how the outcome was very easily predictable. The why is what I don't see. Why do this? Why risk mother and child? Why kill the mother for a baby that would never live, or make the women having kids sterile due to complications?
It seems to me to be another way of preventing population growth.
