Not sure about antibiotic resistance, but I DO know this, my cat had an infected uterus (I forget the name of the condition exactly,) and she was prescribed antibiotics, and they worked like a charm. The weird thing was that when I opened it, it smelled EXACTLY like the stuff that I used to take as a kid (the bubblegum shit) only it was white. Of course I tastes it and it was the exact stuff, just not pink.
It is the same thing. They use human meds for pets. I've had to fill pet scripts at the human pharmacy plenty of times before.
I order fish antibiotics and have used them when I got an infection. When my cat got an abscess I used them on her, too. I'm allergic to a lot of them because they gave me too large of doses as a kid but surprisingly enough they even have the one available for fish that I am not allergic to.
