It is turning into another Detroit, mostly due to leftwing incompetence and total corruption, but also outside forces warring on it. Highly likely to collapse into a much poorer place to be.

I believe this could get fixed if we ever have legitimate elections, but not before that. San Francisco the new Detroit? Ah, man... that’s totally gay (the way we used to say it in the 90s).
heh. But really - downtown SF is on the way to being a ghost town. Due to the high crime, corporations are not booking the Moscone convention center anymore, and major hotels have gone away. Walgreens pulled out, and others. Covid lockdown destroyed so many small businesses. The Dems have the politics locked up so there's no hope of replacing the corrupt city bureaucracy. Amazingly, rents have stayed high as in the tech bro days, but tech is moving away to places like Austin. Remote workers no longer come to downtown offices. Likely that the transit system will go bankrupt. The place needs to burn down/quake down and regenerate.
