How does this comment get missed?

I'll bite;

What degree are you and what Rite are you (York or Scottish)?

Just standard blue lodge, 3rd degree. The "degrees" past that in the Scottish Rite for example are kind of bullshit. No memorization, no new useful information, no oaths, just "watch a play and get a degree".

I do not believe this is true for York.

Scottish Rite is how you explain it - basically a show. However York Rite follows the practices of the Blue lodge, as York Rite is the original tradition.

Scottish Rite claims to be descended from Jacobites who fled to France following the Charles II revolution. It's official Supreme Council was formed in 1801... well after the accepted date of 1390 for the York Rite which dates its lineage to the Regis Document.

My suspicion is that the corruption of Freemasonry happened with the Scottish Rite, and its influence from Eurotrash nobility. The famous 33rd Degree is only found in the Scottish Rite, and not York. Also, all the scumbag Freemasons we hear about all seem to be connected to Scottish Rite, and involve the degrees beyond the 10 degrees found in York (I think).

Further, of the 2 Rites, later degrees in York require members to be Christian (specifically), which sort of flies in the face of the presumed Satan worship Freemasonry is accused of.

The founding fathers who were Freemasons all appear to have been members of the York Rite, as the Scottish Rite didn't exist during the War of Independence.

Are you able to confirm how accurate I am on this? I would be curious to see how close some of my guesses are getting to the mark, based on what I've gleaned from Internet sources and the Freemason source books I've seen.

Can confirm. You're more or less bang on here.

Can also confirm that never in all my years has anyone in my lodge done anything satanic, nor do we "worship Lucifer". Albert Pike does not speak on behalf of all Masons, nor are his writings considered any sort of authority or doctrine of Masonic teachings. They're interesting, sure, but he was a power hungry maniac.

The Mason's I know use the teachings to organize our thoughts and our lives. And yes, we enjoy delving into some esoteric knowledge and teachings. Who doesn't? But no one I have ever met was a "luciferin or satanist". Mostly we drink whiskey, talk about women, and share interesting information with one a other. We don't answer to a shadowy hand, and we do frequent charity work to better our community. Do we have secret signs and rituals? Absolutely.

The other one I often see is "well you just don't understand the true depth of Freemasonry and you're secretly worshipping Satan."

Nope. Let's say you start a sandwich shop and treat your employees well. Now let's say someone else copies your business model and treats their employees poorly. Does that mean that you now too treat your employees poorly? Of course not. Albert Pike isn't an authority on the Masonic practice any more than the crook Joel Osteen is an authority on the Christian religion.
