What am I misrepresenting? Futuristic cities with advanced travel.
Do you honestly think every adult will have their own flying car? Honestly?
Now that leaves it to corporations and public utilities... What requirements are there to use these modes of transport?
We already have ID, sure but if you expect the ability to move massive numbers of people like busses, onto flying vehicles like planes, using the current being methods of plane travel, all in attempts to prevent stealing of the vehicles... Than you must increase the rate at which the process is completed, which is pretty much digital ID and facial recognition.
If it free or metered use? What's the currency? Again you run into speed being an issue, and thus the solution is exactly what they want... Digital wallets.
If these transports are managed by corporate or government organizations, where will they take you, where won't they? Sure you CAN fly anywhere, but will they let you? Who's even piloting them? Other men and women, robots, AI?
How would they control one of these machines if it's taken over by a criminal? Shoot it down with a better machine, or simply shut it with a signal? Who is considered a criminal? What's stopping them from shutting all of them down?
Even under the banner of helping us, it's easy to see the methods of control they will use.
You think when they get all these Jetson cars that roads will exist? Eliminating virtually all other forms of travel while maintaining a monopoly of control on all methods of transport.
You guys say I'm taking it out of context, while I say that you fools are focusing on the carrot so much that you're not going to see the stick being swung your way.
I'm not saying we as a whole couldn't do amazing things, I'm saying we need to be careful what we're getting ourselves into.
