They may be pushing this narrative to hide what the sigil actually is.
As it is known to be a family crest. Maybe someone here can provide the family name, as I am not good with remembering names or blood lines.

Volodymyr the Great, that means 10th century. He came to power in 969 AD (or after the death of his father 3 years later). Pretty much the end of the Khazarian Empire. The Khazars' epoch of greatness was from 600 to 950 AD. So, what's with the Khazarian Tamga, Volodymyr decided to keep it, and only slightly modify it?
there's a book on history of Ukraine sitting on my bookshelf that was opened perhaps just once when I unwrapped it from the protective foil several years ago - it most likely wouldn't answer that question, but I really need to read it regardless
