I've been without decongestants for a year now. I got really pissed off because not only do they cause a severe rebound effect, they also have them locked up behind a bunch of alarms and stupid stuff because some retards like to cook them into meth.

There used to be this thing called trucker speed ephedrine and it was awesome, and they took that away too. Wasn't a decongestant but a vasodilator I think and made it much easier to breathe deeply. It was a thing that actually worked. Too bad like 5 kids somewhere were abusing it and died, that they pulled it off the market.

Of course caffeine has killed MANY MORE people than that, and continues to, but you can get no doze and its designer-imposters for practically nothing from the dollar general even today, if you want to make you heart explode.

It's the same thing, but one is allowed and the other is not. And it all comes down to the US gov picking winners and losers out of drugs and having to make a sophies choice and kill the ephedrine since it cannot kill the caffeine pills because doing so would jeopardize a multi billion possibly trillion dollar coffee and energy drinks industry.

Anyway, I've gone off into the weeds on that rant. My point is, drug prohibition is a sham.

Back to decongestants, another sham. The only reason it hasn't been pulled from the market like ephedrine is because the pharma industry wills its continued existence. PLUS, it's a gateway to other OTC drugs. You screw yourself up with decongestants, and then you have to use a different type, then it gives you reflux, so you need some ulcer tummy medicine. Then that doesn't work, so you need some pepto bismol to coat the GI. You get on a cycle.

You don't need them.

You just need to drink water.

But if you have an electrolyte imbalance, drinking water won't help you, and might make it worse.

The culprit is always sodium. Too much sodium, not enough potassium. You can have HIGH sodium intake, as long as you ALSO HAVE high potassium intake. It has to do with ratio. Potassium helps eliminate excess sodium. So if you're congested, it's either the case you're dehydrated, or dehydrated with high sodium, or you've consumed WAY too much sodium without an increased amount of potassium to eliminate it.

Solution: Drink a shot of 1/8-1/4 tsp of potassium chloride. Too much potassium is dangerous. Start small, know your body. I buy potassium chloride in bulk and pour out 1/4 tsp into a shot glass, fill with some hot water and a few drops of lemon juice and then I shoot it and chase it with just water. It's horrible. Not going to sugar coat it.

"Nusalt" works in a pinch. You can get it as a salt substitute at the grocery. But I recommend getting NOW brand or another reputable brand and get the bulk powder for making your own electrolyte drinks.

"Snake Juice" which is a recipe for an electrolyte drink used in the "snake diet" is what I make and keep on hand. Snake diet is just long term fasting. You have to replace electrolytes and it greatly reduces cravings and hunger when you drink electrolyte drink instead of just water. This 'snake juice' is key to being successful and not getting sick or angry or feeling bad.

I noticed that when you shoot some potassium and drink lots of water, like 64 oz over the course of say 2 hours, you'll start getting up to pee a lot and you'll be eliminating your excess sodium that is congesting you. Then suddenly you're ears will pop, and you nose might even start to run. That's the success sign. Go blow your nose. You just solved congestion without having to require BIG PHARMA to put you on some kind of slave track.

Now this part is advanced, and I imagine only someone like Jeff Berwick would appreciate it, but if you're really in a bad way, you can pretty much run dilute snake juice as a retention enema and achieve the same thing. It quickly rehydrates you and your nose will run as the sign that you've pretty much resolved the issue.

Disclaimer: none of this is medical advice. It is for entertainment purposes only. Do your own research. Be careful with potassium, ok? Better just to drink lots of water than to hurt yourself. But when I say lots, if you drink more than a gallon in a few hours, you can actually hurt yourself unless you actually take some snake juice along with it.

(snake juice is iirc roughly 2:1 potassium to sodium salt, bicarbonate, epsoms, and boron citrate. real recipe is only a google search away)
