Just an observation, but most of all that's out there are "cool mist" ultrasonic units - that aerosolize whatever contaminants are present in tap water. Coincide that with the shortage of bottled distilled water. Can't find any anywhere... Mostly a rant, but also a concern. Most folks filter tap water, but what's that matter if you're ingesting it thru your lungs from running shoddy tap water thru a chynese made humidifier?

I have a reverse osmosis system we put in ourselves, and I only use that water. I think tap water isn't really good for shit. Unfortunately our house is old, and hard to put in a whole system filtration (even a cheaper system). I use our RO water in my humidifier or diffuser...same thing. We also have a device for testing the PPM in our water to make sure it is being filtered properly.
Do a bit of research about the potential risks of drinking only RO water. I'm not 100% convinced or knowledgeable on the topic, but my understanding is that if you only drink RO water, you will eventually get very sick from loss of minerals (via leaching in your gut).
Well our tap water smells like chlorine (bleach) So I will never drink that. It gets very hot here, so they add a lot of bleach to it to prevent bacteria in our water. We do still get bottled water (spring water) that we drink and sparkling water as well. We also drink raw milk. We eat an animal based diet including all the organs. So I think we will be okay. I understand what you mean though. A lot of diets lack what we need. Women specifically need more iron than most of them eat. I eat meat almost every day.
