Just an observation, but most of all that's out there are "cool mist" ultrasonic units - that aerosolize whatever contaminants are present in tap water. Coincide that with the shortage of bottled distilled water. Can't find any anywhere... Mostly a rant, but also a concern. Most folks filter tap water, but what's that matter if you're ingesting it thru your lungs from running shoddy tap water thru a chynese made humidifier?

whatever you put in a aresolize unit you're breathing in, so you're breathing in whatever is in the water. You can try distilled water but still, distilled water contains copper, tin, or whatever that comes out of the steel boiler you boil the water in. The best bet would be Reverse Osmosis water which is just as clean as distilled but does not contain heavy metals from the boiling process.
Here's the thing ... the water is boiled ... distilled ... then reverse osmosis processed ... then UV or Ozination or chlorination ... then select minerals are added in for "taste".
Learn the process before spouting bullshit ... retard.
