I've been a Hindu for a long time and I can say Ganesha has too much worldly power over non-spiritual goals and that might not be a very good thing.
Ganesha means Controller of the Legions (of worldly spirits). In my current view, after my Spiritually Transformative Experience that altered my life by contemplating beings I'd later understand more by reading the Book of Enoch, I'd counsel one to deal with care with the devas of Hinduism.
It's very long and involves a lot of events. But I'll try to make it short for now: I've seen beings that I didn't understand. I then began reading a certain apocryphal book and my jaw dropped, everything I've seen was written there.
Guess who hates that apocryphal book? Most mainstream churches, only certain old school orthodox ones accept it.
After having these visions I completely transformed my life, changed country, objectives, etc.
