I don't buy it for a minute that "Black Friday" is a term reflecting the profitability of retail stores.

Most retail stores make a profit every month. It's not like they operate in the red all year until the Christmas season puts them back in the black.

Black Friday is a sinister label, maybe even a curse, placed on the beginning of the Christmas season. A time to become greedy, and combative with your fellow man.
