I know this will sound a bit stupid... but I'm not sure that I believe in the 'immune system' anymore.
Consider the 'corona virus'. It was allegedly deadly to 80+ year olds. Fine. That makes sense.
But it was barely deadly at all to 40 year olds... but there are tons (literally!) of enormously fat people in the USA who do no exercise, and live off Doritos and Mountain Dew. Surely their 'immune systems' can't be strong enough to ward off viruses...
Your probably right immune system maybe a farce and some peoples genetics are just better than others. There are people who die from smoking and others that dont. Maybe the mere thought of being sick is what makes people sick. Thoughts become manifest in the physical.
