Problem is, it's up to the legislature to define the Constitution's vague words like "excessive" and "cruel," and they haven't really done that, and they probably don't plan to.
They don't do shit because the same people that control the media (who's supposed to keep government in check) are the same people that control politics.. Who will report on who these people really are?? Not our beloved Alternative media (including Mr Jones) .. now you start to smell it
The free press is essential to democracy. What we have is a press enslaved by the DNC and forced unto the darkest corners of the internet to even be able to tell the truth.
The flaw of the US structure is media ownership (and now BIG TECH).. We have had a media our whole lives that has been covering up and lying to us about EVERYTHING protecting their owner's interests.
The Free Press is supposed be a check and balance against government corruption. It takes money to run the press and pay the reporters .. Need a radical change in the FREE PRESS dept.. We became the free press on Twitter and they shut us up.
