Basically those are points with specific patterns, in a network. For a face, one can apply a grid and map feautures on the face to the places on the grid and then look for the ID of the pattern. The thing is, that is not very flexible. So you can break it by masking some points with 'art'.

What kind of art are you talking about? Sunglasses? Facemask? Tattoo or the good old fake moustache?
You could paint shapes (like some triangles) on your face with dark makeup for instance.
