Sorry that's buried deep in my search history months ago, I didn't save it. But I heard it different times about diff subs, one guy said he was a former mod at one of the subs it happened to and that they were given the choice of taking those mods or facing banning from reddit. He gave some various info about it and said to check the mod history and I'd see that almost all current mods were added at the same time. I did check at that time and only a few older mods remained and most mods were all added at the same time. I see that every single mod in r/conspiracy seems to have been added 4 years ago, there are none earlier or later, not sure if that is something similar or what. Also I started having my posts removed quietly for no apparent reason or notification, for instance this one: https://www.reveddit.com/v/conspiracy/comments/pgvfr1/did_cofounder_of_reddit_aaron_swartz_really/?add_user=loonygecko...new.all.t3_pgsvc3..
What happened there is the /r/conspiracy mods voted to remove the inactive head mod at the time, illuminatedwax, and the admins FUCKED up royally and "accidentally" removed the ENTIRE mod team instead. They "apologized" and said it was a bug, but they clearly were fucking with me. Immediately after this, I was accused of orchestrating a "coup" and the attacks on me exploded exponentially. Even though it was actually quite impossible for me to remove the former head mod who was ABOVE me on the list (only admins could do that which is why we appealed to them). Regardless, all of our mod counters got reset to 0 when that happened, myself included. The admins never really explained themselves. It's one of many, many sketchy things that happened to me during my time at reddit.
Reddit is gone. The same thing that happend to twitter happened to reddit. The amount of content that gets removed either manually or automatically is unbelievable.
If I remember right r/conspiracy on reddit was forced to accept reddit appointed mods not long ago, so that sub is totally compromised now.
source?
