One of the most pervasive corruptions is removing Christ and replacing it with lord. Modern Christianity is trained to ask 'Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior.'
Baal translates to lord.
Yahshua (Joshua/Jesus) is not lord and savior imo, but Messiah and Redeemer. Messiah is someone who teaches so that we can walk alongside, not blindly follow. Redeemer puts us in a state where we can be saved but there are still expectations (by Grace, but something short of a free ticket). We cannot idle by while evils run rampant, surrendered to the inevitability and hoping futilely for a secret deliverance.
Calling on Yahshua in the afterlife is incredibly powerful, but I don't assume that blind followers will be able to do so.
