Everyone does realize that the satanic temple is a political activist group and not religious right? Basically they exist to point out the hypocrisy of the state favoring one religion over others (I.e. in the USA Christianity) and make sure religious rights are evenly applied. For example if you wanted to put a statue of the 10 commandments out front of city hall then the state should also allow a Baphomet statue otherwise Christianity is getting an advantage from the state that no other religion gets. Has nothing to do with Satan they are in fact an atheistic organization masquerading as a religion to pursue these kinds of lawsuits. A great case example in my county was in God we trust stickers on police cars, religious group wanted them on but Satanic temple sued the county. The stickers are still there but the Christian group had to finance it in full instead of using the county funds.

I believe that you believe this which speaks to their ability to deceive. The US was built on Christian principles and this moral fabric is what has allowed us to be a haven of liberty and prosperity. We deconstruct this at our spiritual, civil, and economic peril.

It's literally in their charter though. I ask that you do a modicum of research on the organization before coming to your conclusion. I was raised Christian myself but am now atheist due to both actually reading the Bible and seeing the hypocrisy of the church at every level. Let me ask you this do you think you need religion to be a moral person? What's to stop me am atheist from raping, pillaging, and murdering since I don't believe in God. Clearly there exists moral standards and philosophical concepts outside of religion that dictate the moral fabric of society. Why do you believe the words of MEN written thousands of years ago I.e. the Bible. Religion to me is silly in that way, I might as well pick up a random book of my bookshelf and base my whole life around it, makes just as much sense. Oh but of course you "believe" it is the word of God, you just have to have "faith" all those other religions written also by men are wrong only this book is right because I have faith. Religion and religious people in my opinion are not critical thinkers. That being said I don't begrudge you your faith, as a former Christian I don't hate religion or religious people, honestly whatever gets you through life is fine. I just hate religious institutions that use the state as a club to push their views on others.

It's strange you are atheist because of one such religion...you should probably explore more. Sounds like you had a bad church or experience but being not Christian....that's like a tiny fraction of the religions.

Oh trust me I did just that, explored many religions and "spiritual" things in general even tried other churches. It's just not for me. I know more about religions and their books than most people I talk to. Ultimately it was a quest for meaning after losing the meaning that Christianity provided. My final conclusion is that it's pointless to find meaning in an uncaring and chaotic universe so we should just do the best we can and be kind to others in what short time we have. Make "heaven" on earth if you will.
