Twitter was/is truly a cult. Its employees felt they were on a liberal mission for their god. Cults typically attract and ensnare people who are either weak minded or are mentally ill. I believe many on the Twitter staff are borderline mentally ill, so they would hit hard emotionally if their protective cult suddenly gets snatched away.

I think it would be a very nice gesture to Amazon-them all a box with a sturdy pretty rope in it. Or some very special Koolaid.
